Allen Leng is also chairman of Heysea Yachts in China

Allen Leng, chairman of Heysea Yachts in China, has been appointed vice president of ISO’s Subcommittee 12-Large Yachts under TC8 Committee-Ships and Marine Technology by ballot.Sub-Committee 12, involved with large yachts, has most countries associated with building superyachts as members, including Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, the US, UK, France, Turkey and Australia.

Leng will help in the development of the committee, which was formed in 2016 to address new standards for the large yacht industry. He will also work to engage with the large yacht industry in Asia to encourage ISO involvement and use of their standards.

The appointment of Leng, believed to be the first Chinese person on the committee’s executive, not only recognises Heysea Yachts as a leading superyacht builder in China, but also Leng’s long-standing experience in the yacht market.

The appointment is also seen as recognition of Asia's growing importance in the global yacht market and an opportunity to extend the committee’s standards for large yachts in the region.
