Heysea Launches 35m Explorer, Lands First European Contract

We proudly unveil our adventure-ready explorer series, created with Italian studio VYD, as the debut contract is signed for Mediterranean cruising

We are thrilled to announce our official entry into the aluminium explorer yacht segment — and we've signed our first European contract for a 35-metre steel-and-aluminium expedition vessel. This historic milestone places a Chinese shipyard firmly on the map in the bluewater explorer category. Delivery is scheduled in approximately two years, after which the yacht will cruise the Mediterranean.

Italian flair, engineered by Heysea

This project marks an exciting new chapter in our collaboration with the acclaimed Italian design studio VYD Studio, founded by Paolo Dose. The exterior lines and interior concept come from the Italian team, while every aspect of core engineering — hull structure, electrical systems, piping, machinery and interior fit-out — is being executed in house by our own engineers and craftsmen.

The result is a yacht that fuses Mediterranean elegance with the robust, go-anywhere DNA of a true explorer. We believe this cross-continental creative partnership has produced something genuinely special, and the market seems to agree — the design drew international interest the moment it was revealed, leading directly to this first European contract.

Built to roam the world

Engineered with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, the 35-metre explorer delivers exceptional strength and seakeeping while staying under 500 GT for ease of operation. She is classed for unrestricted navigation, carries 38,000 litres of fuel and achieves a range of 4,000 nautical miles at 10 knots — built to cross oceans in complete confidence.

More than a decade of steel-aluminium mastery

We have been building with steel and aluminium for over 12 years — As far back as 2014, we custom-built a 43-metre superyacht catamaran with a steel hull and GRP superstructure — at the time the world’s sixth-largest twin-hull superyacht. That expertise now flows into a full series. The 35-metre is the first of three core explorer models under development, alongside 45-metre and 54-metre sisters, all with steel hulls and aluminium superstructures and kept under 500 GT. From a compact owner-operated adventurer to a fully crewed world cruiser, this family is designed to grow with our owners' ambitions. The expedition market is booming, and we are ready to serve it with our full engineering heritage and drive to build yachts that can truly go anywhere.

Stay tuned — the voyage has just begun.
